A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Iranian Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Affairs Ali Rabiei and his Mexican counterpart, Alfonso Navarrete Prida, in Tehran on Monday. As enshrined in the MoU, the two countries have pledged to exchange experience in different sectors of labor and social welfare including, but not limited to, job safety in chemical, textile and metal industries, job classification, workplace regulations, vocational-technical training and disability empowerment. “Mexico City is eager to expand political, economic and social relations with Tehran,” said the Mexican minister. Exchange of experience in social welfare will help strengthen the time-honored ties between the two countries, said the Iranian minister. “Iranian companies affiliated to insurance funds are ready to start joint ventures in construction, mining, petrochemical and pharmaceutical sectors in Mexico,” IRNA quoted Rabiei as saying.
