There are currently $14 billion worth of unfinished projects across the country, says the Vice President for Executive Affairs Mohammad Shariatmadari, adding that due to the government’s tight budget this Iranian year (started March 21), these projects must be entrusted to the private sector, IRNA reported. He criticized the previous administration for “launching numerous projects without proper feasibility studies to assess their economic viability.” His remarks echoed those by First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri, who said earlier that “the government plans to delegate all unfinished projects to the private sector”.
