More than 100,000 tons of goods worth $37.5 million were exported via North Khorasan Province in the first five months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), showing a 32% increase in terms of volume and a 29% rise in value compared to the similar period last year, said director general of the province’s Customs Bureau, Javad Jafari, on Tuesday. The exports included urea, melamine powder, steel bars, plastic products and granite destined for Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Persian Gulf Arab states as well as countries in Europe and America, Mehr News Agency reported. Meanwhile, the province imported 15,000 tons of goods, including rice and polystyrene foams, valued at $58.5 million during the same five-month period.
