Sri Lanka to Resume Tea Exports

Sri Lanka will once again commence exporting tea to Iran as of November, says Colombo Tea Trader’s Association Chairman Anselm Perera. Before sanctions were imposed by the West against Iran over its nuclear energy program, Iran was the second largest buyer of Sri Lankan tea importing 50,000 tons per year which amounted to $350 million in revenue, Sri Lanka’s national newspaper Daily News reported.
