A Filipino trade delegation arrived in Tehran on Saturday to discuss joint venture production in Iran’s mining sector. During its three-day visit, the delegation is scheduled to meet with senior officials from the ministry of industries, mining and trade in the light of Iran’s new economic climate following the country’s historical nuclear accord with the major six world powers. In February, a Filipino trade delegation led by former head of Philippines’s House of Representatives Jose de Venecia Jr. visited Iran to explore avenues of cooperation in Iran’s oil, gas and mining sector. Philippines’ Ambassador to Iran Eduardo Martin Menez, visited the Persian Gulf Special Economic, Mining Industries and Metal Zone in the same month and proposed joint venture production in the key steel sector, IRNA reported.
