Italy and Egypt were the biggest export destinations for Iranian goods in Europe and Africa respectively during the first four months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), says deputy minister of industries, mining and trade and head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization Valliolah Afkhami Rad. About $193 million worth of goods were exported to Italy during the period, accounting for 40% of total exports to Europe, IRNA reported. Meanwhile, $150 million worth of goods were exported to Egypt, accounting for 60% of total exports to Africa. Afkhami Rad added that total export value during the period stood at $14 billion, indicating a 15% decrease compared to the same period last year. According to the official, the main reason behind the decrease was a 40% drop in the value of gas exports.
