Tehran and Muscat can exploit the new economic climate by establishing joint ventures in various fields, said the chairman of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mining and Agriculture Mohsen Jalalpour during a meeting with Oman’s Ambassador to Iran Saud bin Ahmed bin Khalid al-Birwani in Kerman Province. “Iran and Oman have long-standing and deep political ties, and considering the new economic climate following the nuclear deal with six world powers, it is time to bolster economic relations to make full use of the situation,” Forsat-e-Emrooz Newspaper quoted Mohsen Jalalpour as saying. The Omani envoy, for his part, welcomed the prospect of closer ties with Iran and said that a new chapter in the two countries’ relations has already begun. “Iran holds tremendous potential for cooperation in various fields,” he said adding that Oman’s deputy Prime Minister Fahd bin Mahmoud al-Said is to visit Tehran on September 9.
