Turkey’s deputy minister of economy Adnan Yildirim, accompanied by senior officials from the Foreign Economic Relations Board, members of Turkish Contractors Association and private sector representatives are in Tehran for a three-day visit. They are scheduled to meet the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Tayyebnia, Minster of Industries, Mining and Trade Mohammadreza Nematzadeh, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi and Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi. “Turkey held on to its trade ties with Iran during the sanctions period, and now intends to further expand bilateral trade and cooperation as sanctions are being lifted,” IRNA quoted Yildirim as saying. The Turkish delegation is also expected to attend the 15th International Exhibition of Building and Construction Industry in Tehran (August 9-12). Yildirim pointed to the significance of the expo and said: “This is a great opportunity for the two countries’ private sectors to expand trade and cooperation.”
