More than 226,000 tons of goods worth $53 million were exported from South Khorasan Province in the first four months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), indicating a 46% increase in terms of weight and 8% increase in value, said the head of Customs Administration of South Khorasan Province Mohammad Ali Khashi. The main exports included light and heavy hydrocarbons, cement, tiles, gasoline, frozen chicken and other foodstuffs which were destined for Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Turkmenistan and Russia, Mehr News Agency reported. The official added that about 272 tons of goods worth $213,000 were imported in the same four-month period, showing a 6% decrease in terms of volume and 42% decrease in value.
