First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri visited Golestan Province on Tuesday for the inauguration of a railroad linking the northern city of Gorgan with Incheh Borun on the border with Turkmenistan as well as 15 industrial and agriculture projects worth 800 billion rials ($26.98 million at official exchange rate). Agriculture minister, the director of the Environment Protection Organization and the head of Iran Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization accompanied Jahangiri in his one-day tour of the northeastern province. “In the light of new political climate after clinching the nuclear deal with six world powers, Iran is ready to make advancement on economic front;” Mehr News Agency quoted him as saying. On top of agriculture sector and its related industries, expansion of tourism industry is the government’s top priority for Golestan, given its high potential in tourist attraction and its numerous historic monuments, he added.
