Farhad Nili, president of the Monetary and Banking Research Institute, has been appointed as the representative of the Central Bank of Iran to World Bank.

CBI's Governor Valiollah Seif announced his appointment on Saturday, expressing gratitude for Nili's service to the research arm of the CBI, IRNA reported, citing a statement released by the bank.

Nili holds a PhD degree in Economics from University of York, UK. His successor will be Ali Divandari, a former managing director of Mellat and Parsian banks, the report said.

Seif expressed hope that Divandari would help improve the achievements of the MBRI through cooperation with academics and economic experts. Divandari has a PhD degree in strategic management from University of Tehran.
