The first quarter of the current Iranian year (started March 21) saw the exports of 600 tons of honey worth more than $3 million to 16 countries, ISNA reported. The UAE and Turkey were the main customers of Iranian honey; the former purchased around 200 tons in the three-month period. According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration each kilogram of Iran’s honey is valued at $5. Other export destinations for the honey were China, Azerbaijan Republic, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Tajikistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia and Brunei.
