The Central Bank of Iran has reported a 11.1% increase in the producer price index (PPI) in the 12-month period ending July 21, which marks the end of the fourth Iranian month Tir, compared to the same period last year. The figure indicates a 5.7% increase compared with the similar month of the previous year. The PPI index (using 2011 as the base year) stood at 214.3 during the month, indicating a slight decline of 0.2% compared with the previous month, Mehr News Agency reported.  The report also shows among the PPI sub-indexes, ‘healthcare and social work’ sector recorded the highest inflation (30.8%) compared with the similar month of last year. Meanwhile, ‘healthcare and social work’ with 2.7%, ’transportation’ with 0.2% and ‘hotels and restaurant’ with 0.1% registered the highest increase compared with a month earlier.
