The price of a kilo of caviar for export in the first quarter of the current Iranian year (started March 21) hit $2,000 mark, twice as much as last year’s prices, ISNA reported. Exports of 200 kilograms of caviar to Germany, the UAE, Britain and Italy generated more than $400,000 in revenues for Iran. Germany beat Belgium to become the main customer of Iranian caviar by buying 200 kilograms last year, but it only purchased 17 kilograms in the first quarter.
