The Austrian capital city of Vienna will host an international conference on post-sanctions investment opportunities in Iran on July 23 and 24. The ‘Iran-EU Economic Conference, Trade and Investment’ seeks to expand trade ties between Iran and EU member states, Mehr News Agency reported. Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani in a telephone conversation with his Austrian counterpart President Heinz Fischer stressed the importance of the conference and thanked Vienna for hosting nuclear negotiations between Tehran and P5+1 (the US, the UK, France, Russia, China and Germany). Minister of Industries, Mining and Trade Mohammadreza Nematzadeh will reportedly lead the Iranian delegation, which will comprise of representatives of economic, financial, banking and foreign investment sectors as well as executives from oil, gas, petrochemicals, mining, automotive and other industries. According to the event’s website, the 2-day conference will have “a tremendous impact on the structure of global and regional cooperation.”
