Spatial planning systems are lacking in the agriculture sector, says the former chairman of Agriculture Commission of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture. “Farmers grow whatever they wish, which at times leads to excess or shortage of a particular agricultural produce,” Eghtesad News quoted Shamsali Hadizadeh Moallem as saying. He believes farmers should coordinate with the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad before crop rotation—the practice of growing a series of different types of crops in the same area. Unity of management is a must in all stages of farming, he added.
