Visiting Trade Delegations Increasing

The number of trade delegations visiting Iran in the first quarter of the current Iranian year (started March 21) increased by 133% compared to the same period of last year, said Vice President of Marketing and Trade Relations Department at the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran. “Fourteen delegations from 12 countries involving a total of 207 traders visited the country in the three-month period, indicating a 133% increase in the number of delegations, 50% rise in the number of countries and 30% hike in the number of delegates compared to the same period of last year,” IRNA quoted Mir-Aboutaleb Badri as saying. The trade delegations’ visits coincided with important events such as the International Exhibition of Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemicals, the International Exhibition for Medical, Dental and Laboratory Equipment, the International Exhibition of Transportation and Rail Industry, the International Exhibition of Agriculture and Food industry and the International Exhibition for Handicrafts. The official added that the trade delegations came from Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Southern Africa, Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Lebanon and Iraq.
