Deputy Minister of cooperatives, labor and social welfare, Koroush Parand, in a meeting with the Brazilian ambassador to Iran called for a memorandum of understanding on technical and vocational cooperation between the two countries. Expounding on the achievements of Iran Technical and Vocational Training Organization, affiliated to the Labor Ministry, the official said TVTO offers courses in industry and agriculture sectors. Every year around 2 million students receive training through 700 governmental centers and 14,000 private institutes under the auspices of the TVTO, Mehr News Agency quoted him as saying. “Iran ranked fourth among 52 nations in WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 by winning two silvers, one bronze and eight accolades. WorldSkills Competitions are held every other year and the best skilled workers from all over the world compete for the global title,” Parand noted. Santiago Irazabal Mourao underlined the importance of technical and vocational training cooperation between Tehran and Brasilia, and said improving workforce skills would lead to a rise in their income.
