About $60 million worth of agricultural products were exported through East Azarbaijan Province during the first quarter of the current Iranian year (started March 21), Mehr News Agency quoted deputy head of the province’s Agricultural Jihad Organization in Planning and Economic Affairs Department as saying. According to the official, exports included honey, peas, nuts, onions, apples, grapes, potatoes, beans and eggs, destined for 60 countries, including Turkey, Egypt, Armenia, Russia, the UAE and Spain. He also said agricultural exports accounted for 13% of the province’s non-oil exports. East Azarbaijan holds a 4.2% share in Iran’s agro exports.
