The number of freight wagons at Imam Khomeini Port increased by 14% to 6,957 in the first quarter of the current Iranian year (started March 21) compared to the same period of last year, said deputy director of Ports and Maritime Organization of Khuzestan Province. “More than 388,694 tons of goods were transported by rail in the three-month period, indicating an increase of 22% compared to the same period of last year,” Mehr News Agency quoted Aboutaleb Geraylou as saying.
