More than 10,000 tons of porcelain were produced in the first two months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), which indicates a 17.6% increase in terms of volume compared to the same period of last year, reported the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade. Unofficial statistics indicate that nearly 1.5 million tons of porcelain are produced worldwide annually, 5% of which are produced by Iran, the second major porcelain manufacturer of the world, following China with 80%. More than 10,000 tons of porcelain are exported by Iran every year, with the main destinations being neighboring countries, countries located on the southern coast of the Persian Gulf and Central Asian countries.
