The value of non-oil trade between Iran and the United Arab Emirates reached $17 billion in 2014, making Iran Dubai’s fourth trading partner, according to sources at the UAE Ministry of Finance. In 2013, the UAE’s foreign trade with Iran stood at $15.7 billion, IRNA reported. Trade experts in Dubai believe the lifting of western sanctions imposed against Iran over its nuclear energy program will have a positive impact on the state of economic ties between the two countries. The subject was discussed during a conference on investment opportunities in Iran’s free trade zones in Dubai on June 13.
