The recent spread of bird flu in one of the villages of Mazandaran Province is to blame for the fall in the exports of chicken to regional markets, said deputy agriculture minister in livestock affairs Hassan Rokni. The Veterinary Organization was quick to take isolation and quarantine measures to stem the spread of the few cases of Avian Flu spotted among the local hens of the northern village. “All the industrial poultry farms are now free of bird flu;” Mehr News Agency quoted the deputy minister as saying.
