Data released by Iran’s Customs Administration show that the total value of saffron exports ,including retail and wholesale, in the first two months of the current Iranian year (started March 21) increased by $12 million compared to the corresponding period of a year before, ISNA reported. The figures show that wholesale saffron exports (in packages with more than 30 grams in weight) during the period stood at $20 million, indicating an 80% increase compared to last year’s similar period. Exports in retail (packages weighing 10-30 grams) amounted to $18.5 million which shows a 25% rise compared to a year before.
