Three Iranian dairy companies have won the approval of Russia’s veterinary office to export their products to Russia, announced the secretary of Association of Food Industries. Cheese imports constituted $1.5 billion of the total $3.4 billion dairy products headed to Russia in 2014, ISNA quoted Kaveh Zargaran as saying. “Iranian companies can win over their European counterparts to capture the Russian dairy market, provided that they prove to be reliable supplier of hard cheese,” he added. Referring to Russia’s strict rules and regulations on food imports, Zargaran said the neighboring country has yet to finalize Iranian companies’ permits on meat and chicken exports. “Eighteen fisheries firms have managed to export their products to Russia up until now,” he added.
