Women account for 17% to 20% of the country’s businesses on average while occupying as little as 7% of the managerial seats in the industrial sector, said an aide to the Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade. Figures produced on women’s participation in the economy are inconsistent, but they indicate a minimal share, IRNA quoted Soheila Jelodarzadeh as saying. “We are aiming to make women’s presence on economic fronts conspicuous by 2025 and see their 30% participation,” she added.
