Livestock Export Tariff Eliminated

The Customs Administration has eliminated the export tariff for livestock, reported ISNA. The tariff was formerly 60% of the livestock value, and it last stood at 3.2 million rials ($120) for every sheep. In recent weeks, as many as 15,000 sheep were in the customs waiting to be exported. During the days leading to Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast of the Sacrifice, Iranian breeders export hundreds of thousands of sheep to Persian Gulf countries to be sacrificed.
