The northeastern Khorasan Razavi Province accounts for 70 percent of Iran’s egg production, according to deputy agriculture minister, Jafar Hajimojtahed. Some 94,000 tons of eggs were produced in the province in the last Iranian year (ended March 20), of which 65,000 tons were consumed domestically and the rest was exported to Afghanistan and Central Asian countries, Mehr News Agency quoted the official as saying.
