The construction sector accounts for 40 percent of energy consumption in Iran, according to head of engineering office at National Training Center for Energy Management Mohammad Kazem Valizadeh as reported by IRNA. He called on contractors to adhere to Article 69 of Energy Consumption Patterns’ Reform law, passed by the Parliament in 2011, which stipulates, among others, using double glazed windows to reduce energy wastage in buildings.
