Agro Minister in FAO Conference

The city of Rome in Italy is hosting the Food and Agriculture Organization’s 39th biennial conference. Representatives from 197 FAO member states, including world agriculture ministers are taking part in the event which is headed by director general of the organization, José Graziano da Silva, IRNA reported. Iranian agriculture minister, Mahmoud Hojati, heading a delegation of representatives is also present at the conference. Reviewing global agricultural policies to increase food security and battle poverty and hunger in rural societies is the main goal of the event. On the sidelines of the conference, a ceremony is scheduled to be held to praise the achievements of countries, including Iran, in fighting hunger and poverty. The event started on June 6 and will run for eight days.
