The National Development Fund of Iran (NDFI) has agreed to provide 1.7 trillion rials ($63.7 million) of the total budget needed for nomadic tribes to produce meat. Bank Keshavarzi is responsible for distributing the money among nomadic unions in order for them to produce meat through sheep and lamb farming. Sheep farmers are required to pay off the loans in a one-year period with a 15% interest rate. Bank Keshavarzi said the finance will help nomads produce some 25,000 tons of meat every year.
