Cumbersome regulations and bureaucratic procedures are the main stumbling block to trade with Iraqi Kurdistan, governor of Iran’s western Kurdestan Province, Abdol-Mohammad Zahedi, said on Monday, as reported by Mehr News Agency. He warned that Iran could lose to Turkey in the competition to capture the market if prompt action is not taken. According to deputy governor general of Iran’s Kurdestan Province, Peyman Azhari, annual trade between Iran and Iraq’s Kurdish-speaking regions stands at about $6 billion a year.
