The Trade Promotion Organization of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines will sign an agreement to establish three new shipping lines in the Caspian Sea on Saturday, ISNA reported on Friday. The new shipping lines will connect Anzali, Noshahr and Amirabad ports in northern Gilan and Mazandaran provinces to Russia and other Caspian littoral states. According to TPO, commercial vessels are scheduled to sail from the ports six times per month to Aktau Port in Kazakhstan and Astrakhan Port in Russia. Vessels used in the new shipping lines have the capacity to carry 2,200-6,500 tons of goods. They are also equipped with fridge containers, which give them the ability to carry perishable commodities such as plants and fruit.
