The northwestern city of Ardabil will turn into a free trade zone by February 2016, as the statute of Ardabil FTZ is soon going to be approved by the government, ISNA quoted the deputy director of Supreme Council of Iran’s Free Trade, Industrial and Economic Zones as saying.“All overland trade between Iran and Azerbaijan has to be done via Bileh-Savar customs – a small town in Ardabil Province,” said Jafar Ahangaran, adding that the new FTZ will facilitate future trade as there will be no restriction on imports to and exports from the zone. It is also possible to build manufacturing units in Ardabil FTZ as imported raw materials are exempt from tariff, the official added.
