Iran will produce $47 billion worth of agricultural products by the end of the year, experiencing an average annual growth of 2.9% in the next five years, Business Monitor International forecasted in Iran Agribusiness Report published on May 22. “Ongoing investment by the Iranian government to improve infrastructure such as irrigation system, will help the country leave behind the traditional agrarian system, consequently resulting in producing grains of higher quality,” BMI report stated. Sugar consumption, wheat and poultry production will have the highest growth rate, according to the report.
