In a meeting held in the city of Mashhad, the capital of the northeastern Khorasan Razavi Province, between provincial officials of the Agricultural Jihad Organization and representatives of Germany and France’s agriculture industries, the two sides discussed cooperation to improve the quality of saffron packaging in Iran, IANA reported. Although saffron is grown in 21 provinces across the country, Khorasan Razavi and South Khorasan provinces account for 95 percent of the domestic production. According to deputy agriculture minister, Mitra Majdzadeh, 94 percent of the world saffron production comes from Iran.
