The government is planning to export 10,000 metric tons of powdered milk to neighboring countries, head of Iran’s Animal Farmers Union, Saeed Soltani, told IRNA on Sunday. So far 7 provincial unions have purchased 130,000 metric tons of surplus raw milk from animal farmers, said the official, adding that the products will be sent out to 10 contractor factories to be processed into powdered milk. Pakistan, Tajikistan, Iraq, Syria and Persian Gulf countries are the export destinations for Iranian powdered milk.
