Iran and Turkey stressed the importance of expanding provincial cooperation in a meeting held in Turkey’s south-central Gaziantep Province between Iran’s ambassador to Turkey, Alireza Bigdeli, Gaziantep governor, Ali Yerikaya and head of the province’s chamber of commerce, Ayub Bartek, IRNA reported. Referring to cultural, historical and religious commonalities between Iran and Turkey, Bigdeli said reaching the goal of $30 billion in annual bilateral trade is feasible provided that the two countries’ provinces, especially border regions, boost their collaborations. While in Turkey, the ambassador took part in a conference titled ‘Iran-Turkey Commercial Relations’, which was attended by two-hundred business owners and entrepreneurs from Gaziantep.
