The Maku Airport will come into operation in the city of Maku, West Azerbaijan Province, as of July, director general of Maku Free Zone, Hossein Forouzan announced on Tuesday, as reported by ISNA. According to the official, some $25 million has been allocated to the construction of the airport out of the revenues earned from the Maku Free Zone. “The airport features a 3,200-meter long and 60-meter wide runway, designed to be frequented by Airbus A320 and Fokker 100,” he added.
