Iran-Turkey Border Trade Meeting

The fifth meeting on the expansion of cross-border economic cooperation between Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province and four Turkish provinces of Van, Hakkari, Acri and Igdir opened in the northwestern city of Khoy on Tuesday, IRNA reported. The two-day event is attended by Azerbaijan’s governor-general Ghorbanali Sa’adat and Turkish Consul General in the city of Orumieh, Mehmet Bulut. The attendees were expected to discuss bilateral cooperation in the areas of industry, science, culture, universities, sports, and tourism.  Iran’s West Azerbaijan province has some 550 kilometers of shared border with the four Turkish provinces.
