A direct shipping line between Iran and Oman will be officially launched on Thursday May 14, with the first ship setting sail from Iran’s Shaid Rajaee port to Oman’s Sohar port, IRNA quoted deputy director of Iran-Oman joint chamber of commerce, Ahamd Shirzadegan as saying on Monday.On April 25, a trilateral agreement was signed between Iran and Oman chambers of commerce and an Iranian private shipping company, Jahan Darya Shipping AG, during a visit by a business delegation from Oman to Tehran to establish the direct shipping line aimed at boosting bilateral trade. Three vessels including two container ships and a bulk carrier are scheduled to travel the new route once every 15 days.
