New Planes to Join Air Fleet

As of the last month of the past Iranian calendar year (ended March 20), 17 new commercial aircrafts have been purchased and delivered to the country , announced Minster of Road and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi, on Sunday, as reported by ISNA. The minister added that 15 of the airplanes will join the commercial air fleet soon after they receive the required permits from Iran Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), while 2 of them will be used for their spare parts. Referring to the ban on using aircraft with more than 15 years of age, he said nine of the newly purchased aircraft were manufactured after 2003.
