Offer to Help New Afghan Gov’t

Vice president for executive affairs Mohammad Shariatmadari has said that Tehran is ready to help the new government in Afghanistan handle its economic projects. According to the presidential office, Shariatmadari made the remarks on the sidelines of the oath-taking ceremony of new Afghan president Ashraf Ghani. During his one-day visit to Kabul, the Iranian official met with top Afghan officials after holding talks with outgoing president Hamid Karzai.
