More than 5 trillion rials ($178.5 million based on official exchange rate) worth of goods was exported from Aras Free Zone (AFZ) during the past Iranian year (ended March 20), recording an increase of nearly 68% compared with the preceding year, managing director of AFZ Mohsen Khadem Arab Baghi said on Sunday. “Bitumen, hydraulic oil, heavy and light hydrocarbons, home appliances, construction materials, nuts and foodstuff were the main goods exported via the zone,” he was quoted by IRNA as saying, noting that Germany, Armenia, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Romania, the Czech Republic, Poland, Georgia, Ukraine, Iraq, Pakistan, the UAE and Kazakhstan were the main export destinations.
