Tea plant harvest has officially started, head of Iran’s Northern Tea Farmers’ Union, Iraj Mousemi, announced as reported by ISNA. The official noted that out of 32,000 hectares of tea farms in northern Gilan and Mazandaran provinces, 2,000 hectares are ready for the harvest. According to head of Iran’s Tea Organization, Mohammad-Vali Rouzbehan, considering the amount of rainfall thus far, some 100,000 metric tons of tea plants are anticipated to be produced this Iranian calendar year (started March 21), which will be 50 percent less compared to a year before.
