Dairy producers of Iran as well as those of India may start supplying hard cheese to Russia, Tass news agency quoted an aide to the Russian agricultural watchdog chief, Alexey Alekseyenko as saying. “The Russian market is interested in high-quality dairy products, and in particular, hard cheese,” he stressed, adding that the Iranian producers have already shown interest to prepare for exports. Russians consume 250,000 tons of cheese per year.
