Iran’s Minister of Economy, Ali Tayebnia, left Tehran for the Czech capital Prague on Wednesday morning to hold talks with the Central European country’s top economic officials, IRNA reported.

The minister is scheduled to meet with Czech Finance Minister, Andrej Babis, and Vice-President of Czech parliament’s Chamber of Deputies, Vojtech Filip, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the removal of double taxation on financial transactions carried out between the two countries. During the 3-day visit, Tayebnia is also due to hold talks with the Czech minister of industry and trade as well as the minister of transport. Both countries had discussed signing the MoU in a meeting held between Vojtech Filip and Iranian deputy chairman of the parliament’s economic commission, Abouzar Nadimi, earlier in April in a bid to expand bilateral economic, commercial and industrial ties, ICANA reported.
