A delegation of 20 Pakistani officials, headed by the secretary general of the country’s southern Baluchistan province, took part in Iran-Pakistan Joint Border Meeting on Tuesday. The delegation arrived in the city of Zahedan in southeastern Sistan-and-Baluchestan province late on Monday. Deputy governor of Sistan-and-Baluchestan province, Ali-Asqar Mirshekari, said mutual issues such as border trade, border security, border markets and battling terrorism were to be discussed in the meeting. The delegation was also scheduled to visit the province’s governor, Ali-Osat Hashami, as well as a number of provincial officials and Iranian traders and business owners. Based on mutual agreements the meeting is held every 6 months in either Zahedan or Quetta – the capital of Pakistan’s Baluchistan province.
