Tariff rates on aquatic exports to Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) based on Preferential Trade Agreements (PTAs) with the member states have been reduced from 26 percent to 7 percent, deputy agriculture minister Hossein Salehi, announced on Tuesday, as reported by IRNA.  EAEU is an economic union of states located in northern Eurasia including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. The official highlighted Russia’s name among other EAEU members and noted that the country’s increasing demand for marine products in recent years, besides the sanctions imposed on its agricultural products by the European Union have made it a potential emerging market for Iran’s aquatics.
