Work on a railway project that connects the cities of Boroujerd, Doroud and Khoramabad in the western Lorestan Province began on Monday, as reported by Mehr news agency. Moslem Pourghasemian, the governor of Broujerd County, noted that the project is the extension of the earlier Doroud-Khoramabad railway project that aims at connecting Boroujerd to the network. With a 70-years history in Iran’s transportation, Lorestan Province’s railway network is considered as one of the country’s major transit thoroughfares.
